What else to do or where to eat in Kerikeri?
If you’re spending a little time in Kerikeri while you’re here for the wedding, there are plenty of great spots to explore. Here are a few of our favourite places to eat, wander, and enjoy in the Bay of Islands.
❋ Makana Confections
Makana Confections is a boutique chocolatier where you can watch handcrafted chocolates being made, enjoy free tastings, and buy top-notch treats. Don’t miss the famous Macadamia Butter Toffee Crunch - a buttery, crunchy favourite packed with roasted macadamia nuts.
❋ Marsden Winery
Marsden Estate is one of our favourite restaurants in Northland, set among beautiful vineyards just outside Kerikeri. Known for its seasonal menu and relaxed vineyard setting, it’s a perfect spot for a long lunch and we highly recommend the Pork Belly, Jalapeño & Hoisin Spring Rolls.
❋ Old Packhouse Market
The Old Packhouse Market is a bustling Saturday morning market in Kerikeri, filled with local produce, artisan foods, crafts, and live music. It’s a great place to grab breakfast, browse the stalls, and soak up the relaxed Bay of Islands atmosphere.
❋ Rainbow Falls & Mini Golf
Rainbow Falls is a beautiful short walk along the Kerikeri River leading to one of Northland’s most stunning waterfalls. Nearby, Bay of Islands Mini Golf is a fun spot for a bit of friendly competition and an easy activity to enjoy while exploring.
❋ Stone Store
The Stone Store is New Zealand’s oldest stone building. Set beside the Kerikeri River, it’s a beautiful spot to explore local history, browse the gift shop and enjoy a stroll along the riverbank. Enjoy lunch at the Plough & Feather next door.
❋ Paihia & Russell
Paihia is a great spot for a waterfront walk and an ice cream by the beach. From there, you can take the short ferry to Russell, a charming historic village in the heart of the Bay of Islands, not far from Waitangi.
